Outstanding Woman of the Year

Each year, the Hazlehurst-Jeff Davis Chamber of Commerce celebrates local individuals, organizations, and businesses that make a lasting impact on our community. The 2024 recipients demonstrated exceptional leadership, service, and dedication, especially in the wake of Hurricane Helene. Below are the winners, organized by award category.

2025 Winner

Jayme Crosby

2024 Winner

Kristi Williams

Kristi Williams has been a staple of Jeff Davis Hospital for years. Serving as a nurse and working her way up to become Chief Operating Officer of the hospital, she has dedicated her time and energy to serving others when they are most vulnerable. She did all of this while raising a beautiful family with her husband Ken, supporting her husband through an election campaign and being his cheerleader as he served as Chief of Police for Hazlehurst. Accomplished as a mother, wife, nurse, and businesswoman, Kristi represents the ideals of the Outstanding Woman of the Year award perfectly.

“She dedicates herself to her staff, and this community she leads with her heart. Her compassion drives her each day to make the world a better place. During Hurricane Hellene and the weeks after, she worked tirelessly to ensure anyone she came in contact with had the essentials they needed, often giving money out of her own pocket. When fellow co-workers are suffering, she cries with them, prays over them, and then boldly stands in the gap. I have seen her single-handedly organize fundraisers, forfeit family time to serve at Jeff Davis Hospital, whether as a nurse or passing out water. She leaves her home in the middle of the night when expecting mothers show up at our ER in need of care and cannot make it to another hospital that has OB services. During the snowstorm, she was sent home sick on Monday, but Tuesday she came in and slept at the hospital Tuesday night so she would be available if needed. She pours herself into others and is a guiding light to anyone who knows her.”
